cube_design’s dedicated 3D design team use a range of the latest industry standard software including real-time 3D technology to develop 3D perspectives, animations, and 360° films. Our designs are developed in three-dimensional form enabling us to consider the massing and form of buildings from the outset.

We pride ourselves in utilising these 3D capabilities to talk and walk our clients through and around our designs, allowing them to fully comprehend the buildings and their design elements at every stage of their development. This is an essential design tool and an integral part of the design development process.

Bath Spa University

Our visualisation team were able to give our client a series of visuals demonstrating how material choices would affect the overall aesthetic. This ranged from interior finishes, to exterior cladding, inset LED Panels and large-scale graphic options.

We explored the landscaping proposals to help the client understand the topographical changes of an amphitheatre, the sympathetic visual relationship of the surrounding area and proposed design alongside Grade I listed building.

Gloucester Fire & Rescue

cube_design was appointed to look at the rationalisation of four sites across Gloucestershire. The proposals included fire and ambulance services; and the integration of facilities into the community. The facilities also included rescue services information and an education facility.

The education facility enabling training for individuals of all ages, incorporating accident themed spaces, as well as training for members of the Blue-light and Red-light services.

The studies also looked at the development of external areas where simulations of car accidents and other events could be recreated to assist with training.

Hilton Hotel Tonic Social

Situated close to the beach, at the base of the Hilton Hotel in Bournemouth, our client saw an opportunity to maximise the potential of the outside space. Creating a coherence between the outside and inside under a new pergola, the space is designed as a place to relax and socialise with casual drinks and light dining.

Our visualisation team set about generating a series of 3D and photomontage images for planning and client presentation, as part of the design process, which aided the granting of final planning permission.

The Haberdashers’ Aske’s boy’s school is located in Elstree, Hertfordshire

cube_design was asked to produce a concept design for three additional classrooms; improvement of ICT, Library, Art and Design Technology provision.

Our team created a series of photomontage CGI’s which were used as an aid for planners and school marketing purposes. Our team also conceptualised the signage proposal located on the corner of the building.

SKATE

Our client approached us with the need to gain planning permission for seasonal outdoor ice-skating rinks in Bournemouth, Southampton and Portsmouth. Our visualisation team set about generating a series of photomontages from the photographs provided. These were carefully photo-matched using the precise location from the photographer and then photo-retouched to generate a series of emotive seasonal images which were used for initial marketing purposes.

The images communicated the intention during the planning process and helped inform consultants and contractors.

Silverstone

Our competition pitch for the Silverstone Experience Project, involved our visualisation team generating a series of concept images which helped to clinch the project from 14 other competing architectural practices. The Architectural and Visualisation Teams worked closely with one another to generate the final outcome.

From the outset various block massing proposals were explored to test the site and then developed into sketch concepts through to final 2D and 3D planning and marketing images.

We have worked closely with our client to develop various marketing and concept material for other Silverstone circuit developments including the new Hilton Garden Inn Bridge Link. Utilising the latest real-time technology and building on our extensive knowledge and 3D library we were able to quickly deliver an animation to give a flavour of how the new bridge link could look.
